Sunday. Our first day of canoeing. Guides Matt and Kira take us on the upper Nith River. Because the weather looked bad, we end the day at a Best Western in Brantford, Ontario.

Monday. This was probably the best canoeing day. We continued from where we exited the river on Sunday. There were several challenging rapids. Our take-out was from Catherine Park, just below where the Nith had emptied into the Grand River. We end the day camping in Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area near Paris. The biggest downside to this site was that it was about 250 feet from a highway ... a BUSY highway.

Tuesday. We switch now to the Grand River. Our put-in point is right behind the outfitter, Grand Experiences, in Paris. We end the day outside Brantford, at the Brant Conservation Area where we camped. Our campsite is robbed as we were away for dinner, and the likely suspects are captured, but only in these photos.

Wednesday. We continue down the Grand River. The put-in is located just downstream of the Wilkes Dam. This section of river was completely tame. Our guide Matt had been asked to take a forced vacation, so Jeff stepped in to lead. At the end of the day we return to the campsite at the Brant Conservation Area.

Thursday. We had serious canoe burnout so we switched to mountain bikes. We ride from the Brant Conservation Area into Paris. We knock back a few brews at "The Cobbletone" and then hop in the van and go to Toronto. We walked about a bit, but there was not much time for sightseeing.

Friday. Our flights were at various times so there are only a few photos from the "Delta Chelsea Hotel" in Toronto.
